Carmen Montes, affectionately known as "La Chispa" (The Spark), is a mesmerizing flamenco dancer, and educator based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As the Executive and Artistic Director of Casa Flamenca, Inc., she has dedicated her life to sharing the raw power and deep Gitano-rooted traditions of flamenco with her community. Born in Mexico, Carmen began her dance training at age five. Her true flamenco journey ignited in her twenties, leading her to move to Spain to fully immerse herself in the art form. There, she was fortunate to study with legendary flamenco families, including the world-renowned Farruco family. Today, critics praise her for her complex rhythmic footwork (zapateado) and vibrant stage presence. Through her passionate performances and community workshops, Carmen continues to preserve the authentic, living dialogue of flamenco right in the heart of Albuquerque.
Rafael Campallo is a world-renowned, internationally acclaimed flamenco dancer, choreographer, and master educator born in Seville, Spain. Known for his elegant technique and visceral, high-energy stage presence, he is widely celebrated as a true keeper of the traditional Gitano-rooted style. Rafael began his deep immersion into dance at age eleven, studying under legendary masters like José Galván and Manolo Marín. By sixteen, his immense talent had already made him a highly sought-after solo artist on international stages from Spain to Japan. Over his illustrious career, he has performed as a premier dancer for iconic figures like María Pagés and Vicente Amigo, and has led the Andalusian Dance Company. In 1999, he won the prestigious Premio Desplante at the Festival de las Minas, cementing his status as a titan of the art form. Today, when he is not touring global festivals with his own dance company, he dedicates his time to teaching master classes, sharing the pure, unfiltered rhythm and soul of traditional Seville flamenco with communities around the world.
Diego Amador Jr. is a highly gifted, internationally acclaimed flamenco singer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer born in Seville, Spain. Raised in the legendary Tres Mil Viviendas neighborhood, he belongs to one of Spain's most elite Gitano (Gypsy) musical dynasties. Surrounded by the art form from birth, Diego originally made his professional debut as a percussionist before finding his true calling in the raw power of traditional flamenco singing (cante). Throughout his life, legendary masters like Camarón de la Isla and Farruquito passed through his family home, molding his deep, natural connection to the pure Gitano soul. Known for his incredible versatility and profound stage presence, he has collaborated with icons like Tomatito and Joaquín Cortés, and regularly tours international stages across America and Europe. Today, whether releasing solo work like his acclaimed album "Presente en el tiempo" or starring in renowned flamenco theatrical productions, Diego continues to safeguard and share the vibrant, living dialogue of authentic Gypsy heritage with audiences around the world.
